Hello beauty fanatics, today I'm going to review a primer I'm currently using: the Cyber Colors Ultra Fine Makeup Base Zero Pore Primer.

Cyber Colors is a local Hong Kong brand (I think) that its products are made in Korea. The labels on all their products all says made in Korea which made me believe it was a Korean brand before, but the more searching I do for the brand the more I believe that this is not a Korean brand per se but a local Hong Kong brand perhaps even an in-house brand created by the Sasa chain (equivalent to Sephora but in Hong Kong).

So I stumbled upon this on one of my trips to Hong Kong. My skin was screaming for some new skincare products because it is so humid in Hong Kong and my skincare and makeup products are just not suited for my skin while I was there. This was years ago before I started my Korean 10+ steps skincare regime and my skin was dehydrated all the time. Anyway, I went to a Sasa retail store and a salesperson recommended the Cyber Colors line of products to me. At that time I bought the BB Cream and the Zero Pore Primer.

This Zero Pore Primer claims to be "a weightless finish, oil-free creamy gel that minimizes imperfections while controlling oil and shine. It also instantly hydrates, softens, and cushions skin without blocking the pores. Used prior to foundation, it creates an invisible, long-lasting natural matte finish throughout the day".

The ingredients in this concealer are:

  • Natural Gel: covers wrinkles and pores

  • Hydrolized Collagen: Maintain skin elasticity and lock in moisture.

  • Witch Hazel Extract: Anti-bacterial and anti-inflammation, helps on wound healing and to stop itching

  • Chamomile: Anti-inflammatory, helps on Sterilization and ease allergies

  • Tocopherol Vitamin E: Anti-aging

  • Porous Powder: Control and absorb excessive amount of oil

The product comes in a squeeze tube. I don't smell any fragrance with this primer The texture is very soft and smooth and some may say it feels very "silicony". If you have tried other silicone based primer like Smashbox's Photo Finish Foundation Primer, this texture is much more dense and thick like a cream than a regular silicone based primer that only feels smooth and slippery on the skin and nothing else. I find this primer very light, although silicone based, it doesn't clog my pores and it does control oil and shine throughout the day as well as minimize my pores.

I apply this with my fingers and apply it on my whole face, even though I'm not putting foundation on after or only using bb cream and concealer around my eyes and nose. My skin feels very smooth after and feels like I have a perfect canvas to apply anything on top after.

I have used several other primers before such as: Smashbox primer, Dior primer, Laura Mercier primer, Makeup Forever Primer, etc and none of them are as moisturizing as this one. And this one is also the cheapest priced one out of these, which is a big bonus!

This primer really creates a good base for makeup to go on and it doesn't dry out my skin as well as control shine and oil all day. I can't really find anything bad about this primer at all, for my needs at least.

This primer is available online at Sasa.com or in Sasa retail stores in Hong Kong and other regions I think, I bought mine in Hong Kong. The retail price is about $25CDN only. It lasts at least 3 to 4 months for me and will last longer if you don't use it everyday. I hope you enjoy it too!
