Hello beauty fanatics, today I'm going to review a night serum that I'm currently using and is part of my regular routine: the Missha Time Revolution NIght Repair Science Activator Ampoule.

This serum can be compared with Estee Lauder's Advanced Night Repair as well as Lancome's Genifique. However half the price of the latter two!

The serum claim to protect the skin from environmental damage, reduce fine lines, even skin tone, and moisturize. The serum contains Lactobacillus and Sodium Hyaluronate, as well as retinol - which is why I chose to use this at night only. It also contains a multitude of beneficial plant extracts, and Niacinamide, which has anti-inflammatory and brightening properties.

So why do I choose to use this at night only? Because it contains retinol, which is a vitamin A derivative that is highly effective in reversing sun damage and signs of aging. Retinol encourages skin cell turnover; which in turn produce new skin and new skin is delicate and should not be exposed to the sun. THe name of the serum is also called NIght Repair so it is a good indication that you should really be using this at night only.

The bottle is a semi-transparent purple glass bottle because retinol should not be exposed to sunlight. It is best to store in a cool dry and generally dark place.

There is not much smell to it, the serum is light brown in colour and is transparent. The texture is a little thick and smooth. It comes with a glass dropper for dispensing the product. I must also mention that the bottle design is very smart - the bottle has a ring around the inner lip of the bottle top that removes excess product from the outside of the dropper as it’s pulled out of the bottle,so you wont be wasting any products!

I write this for all my posts, in case you haven't read my other posts: I want to tell you that I always use my hands to apply all of my skincare products instead of using a cotton pad. I just think that I'm wasting a lot of products when I put it on the cotton pad versus putting a few drops in my hands. Another benefit with applying products with my hands is I can massage my face and improve my blood circulation on my face while applying products and also feel my face at the same time to look for dry areas or problems with my skin. Why good blood circulation is good for the skin? Because blood delivers oxygen and nutrients to your cells while it removes waste products, which is vital for good skin.

The way I use this serum is squeeze 1 pea sized drop on my hands, rub it on my hands and then gently pat and press it onto my face.

The feeling of this after applying on my skin is a bit sticky. It takes a little while for it to absorb into the skin, but once you move onto the next step of your routine the stickiness will be gone.

What I had noticed after the first month of use is that my face is indeed more even toned, brightened, and kept my face hydrated.

This brand is available online at their official website as well as at their retail store at Pacific Mall in Toronto. However, I bought mine in Hong Kong Missha store while on my honeymoon. This retails for $50CDN plus tax. Because you don't need to use a lot, my bottle has already lasted 1 year and I still have 1/3 left. You can check around other korean skincare sites as well and find one that is at the price point suitable for you and give it a try!
