Hello beauty fanatics, today I'm going to review one of the serums I'm currently using and is part of my regular routine: the Hanyul White Chrysanthemum Powder Serum.

Hanyul is one of the brands under the Amore Pacific company, which also has other brands such as Sulwhasoo, HERA, Etude House, Innisfree, etc. Jun Ji-Hyun, also known as Cheon Song Yi from the popular Korean drama My Love From Another Star is the face of this brand as well which made this brand soar in popularity in recent years.

The White Chrysanthemum Powder Serum is a brightening and spot lightening serum. It has a unique packaging where they provide a plastic cap that you need to push down to break the seal so the "powder" falls into the serum and then you need to remove the cap and screw the pump on the bottle and shake to mix the powder into the serum well. Because this serum has a short shelf life after the powder is mixed into the serum, it is recommended that you finish using this serum in 3 months after opening. I know it is hard to finish a bottle of serum in 3 months, I'm on the 2nd month now using this and hopefully I can use this for a bit longer and it will still be ok!

Before I go on, I want to tell you that I always use my hands to apply all of my skincare products instead of using a cotton pad. I just think that I'm wasting a lot of products when I put it on the cotton pad versus putting a few drops in my hands. Another benefit with applying products with my hands is I can massage my face and improve my blood circulation on my face while applying products and also feel my face at the same time to look for dry areas or problems with my skin. Why good blood circulation is good for the skin? Because blood delivers oxygen and nutrients to your cells while it removes waste products, which is vital for good skin.

The way I use this serum is I pump 1 pump onto my hands, and then rub it evenly on my palms and pat it on my face gently, pressing the product into my skin and let it absorb.

The first thing I noticed about this serum is the wonderful scent - chrysanthemum. It feels like I'm drinking chrysanthemum tea when I'm applying this, the light and airy chrysanthemum scent is very soothing to my senses when I apply this. The texture is very milky and on the watery side, not your typical thick serum texture.

I have not had any allergic reaction to this and I feel that this is very light and not oily. I only use this in the day time in my morning routine. What I had noticed after the first month of use is that my redness "scars" began fading and my face has not been red ever since. As for my spots and acne scars, I do find them lighten a bit but not gone. Maybe it will take longer for them to fade or maybe this is all this serum can do, I'm not sure yet. But either way this serum has exceeded my expectations and I love it! I would buy this over and over again until my scars all fade lol.

I'm also interested in trying other products in this brand, maybe later when i finish some of my other products I'll give them a try. Until then, this is one of the best serums I've used in a long time!

This brand is not available at local stores here in Toronto, I bought mine on ebay.ca. There are also a few online Korean skincare stores that sell this and shipped from Korea. You can check around the sites and find one that is at the price point suitable for you and give it a try if you are having scar issues on your face. =)
